ABOUT US
With over two decades of expertise, National Playground Surfacing specializes in enhancing playground safety through advanced surfacing solutions. Our commitment is reflected in our use of two primary applications: Pour In Place (PIP) rubberized surfacing and interlocking rubberized playground tiles, both widely adopted nationwide for their effectiveness in safeguarding children.
Our products not only prioritize safety but also environmental sustainability. They are crafted from non-toxic, virtually odorless materials, making them safe for children of all ages and the environment. We utilize a blend of pre- and post-industrial, as well as post-consumer recycled rubber. This approach not only ensures the quality and longevity of our installations but also contributes significantly to eco-friendly practices by diverting millions of pounds of scrap rubber from improper disposal.
At National Playground Surfacing, our dedication to safety and sustainability is paramount, ensuring that every playground surface we install is both safe for play and beneficial for our planet.

National Playground Surfacing collaborates closely with playground designers to install surfacing in and around their projects.
Playground designers create incredibly imaginative play areas for their clients. They understand that truly engaging playgrounds start from the ground up—quite literally. A poured surface serves as an ideal canvas to complement themed playgrounds. Manufacturers of playground equipment offer a variety of themed play sets, from jungle animals and tree houses to fire engines and marine life. Why not incorporate patterns, shapes, and animals into the rubber surface itself, seamlessly extending the design

Poured in place playground surfacing offers almost unlimited design options. It comes in a wide variety of colors. Stencils and designs or even interactive games can be installed within this type of safety surface.
Rubber playground tiles come in pre-fabricated 2ft. x 2ft. pieces. They are available in several colors including red, blue and green being the main options. They can also be installed in a very attractive checkerboard pattern.
Safety should be your number one reason for considering using a rubberized surface such as PIP or rubber tiles for your playground. Rubber is a shock absorbent material that will make your playground a much safer place, aiding in passing all guidelines required.
The thickness of the rubber material will vary with every application. Different fall heights determine the surface thickness that is required under different pieces of playground equipment. However, every application requires 2 layers, the cushion layer and the rubber base.
Keeping up a playground surface can be a challenge and can get expensive if you’re adding yards of new wood chips every year. We are talking about thousands of dollars, depending on the surface area. Not to mention the cost of labor associated with having this done on a yearly basis. Rubberized surfacing is a sustainable playground surface that is not only safer but also eliminates the annual expense.
A newly installed playground rubber surface will last for years to come. However, in time, some basic maintenance may be needed. The amount of maintenance and possible repair work completely depends on the amount of traffic on the durable rubber surface.
